That was the point I was making;
Free to a good home. Both have the sticky plastic issue. One had the
woofers fixed by me. One the woofers were fine but havent used for a
while. One power supply. No remotes. Currently in 2774 with me. Im
occasionally in North Sydney

The MAC and IP addresses are all different (checked in
LMS->Settings->Information).
I had just hoped there was a setting somewhere but I suspect you are
right, it's probably a hardware thing. Now I think about it the analog
output on this SB3 is broken which is a common problem, fixed by
IF PSU is OK, then failing WLAN card can also sometimes have symptoms
described.
A failing WLAN card will stop SB3 from working even if not using WiFi.
SB3 can work without WLAN card so you can test by removing WLAN card and
connecting SB3 to LMS using wired connection. If SB3 still fails,

The referrenced website is gone but the station ultimately plays with

I finally got the scanner to complete a scan.
I did run SFC on my LMS computer and it found a few errors which were
fixed.
I also performed further file integrity scans on a few music folders and
removed a few hundred damaged files.
I have since run several "new or changed" rescans without

however
I needed to isolate the ring main this morning, so threw the mains
switch for ring main. When I had finished work my old SB2 didn't work.
Looking at it, there was obviously power (Optical out lit up) and after
waiting a while it was recognized by LMS.
So it looks like the display has died
