I can't get SqueezePlay running on Windows 8, either. Removed firewall rules for jiive, let them recreate, manually created a rule for squeezeplay.exe. no success, although all ports for squeezeplay.exe are supposed to be non-blocked.

was having the same problem with my ALAC based music library (on a QNAP NAS, though). I did not find a solution until I changed my library content to FLAC (for another reason). For me it looked like SC did not support the Album Artist or Compilation attributes of the ALAC format. -- Meridion
