The thing that's really missing for me in AirPlay solutions is how I use
mine as a bedroom system, the duet is perfect for me because the
controller can be used for basic functions like volume control,
play/pause and track skip without looking at it. I'm mostly an Apple

The one thing I don't like about Sonos and most AirPlay-based solutions
is the lack of a dedicated controller, when my alarm goes off in the
morning and I want to skip a song and turn the volume down a bit the
idea of unlocking my phone, switching apps, etc. just becomes incredibly
unappealing.
getting another duet as backup in case this one dies
because it's the exact setup I want.

but the 360 has the *worst* hardware quality of any console in
history. Their dev tools are great as long as you're coding for Win32.

Update, for the last 4 days I've been leaving the squeezebox powered

I tried one new thing which was disabling all sleep functions on my
mini, it's still starting on its own.

I run a fall 2005-vintage Mac mini [1.8ghz] with a firewire HD, works
great and I haven't even upgraded the RAM. I run it headless and use
VNC when I need to control it.

I just go by number of button presses. It would also be nice if the
amount of time went in reverse order, I can imagine a lot more people
choosing an hour over 15 minutes.
