stopped producing the Squeezebox line. I'm referring to developments
such as Community Squeeze, players like SqueezeLite, and the like.

After reading and discussing matters here a while ago, I put together a
Pi (rev. B) to run SqueezePlug. I got various parts (PSU, WiFi adapter,
etc. from the approved lists, and put it together using the video
instructions at squeezeplug.de. I installed both LMS and SqueezeLite.

I was wondering if there is any consideration currently being given to
including the ability to play multichannel FLACs on future SB-system
development, in particular sending a digital bitstream out the HDMI
port? If anyone could give me any information, I'd greatly appreciate

When I first built my SqueezePlug, I had it temporarily connected as a
cabled device to my router, and it worked fine.
I just attached an AirLink N150 USB adapter (on approved list). I
went into setup, configured the WAN settings to use DHCP, my network
name and WPA password (and, yes, I know
I don't see SoX running (which it wouldn't if LMS wasn't invoking it),
but the total load on the CPU -- except at the very start of play when
it jumped to around 79% for a couple of seconds -- has been running at
around 15% or lower. A lot of the time, it's at more than 90% idle.
Well, SoX is on my system (big surprise, since it is the SqueezePlug
install), but it doesn't seem to be resampling sources greater than
24/96 (in other words, play a 24/192 file, get silence). Does anyone
know how to turn on resampling? A web search seems to get divided

In an earlier thread, I had asked about building a SB Touch
replacement that would be purely a player streaming from an existing
NAS. After reviewing the options, I'm leaning more towards going with a
full SqueezePlug build to get around some limitations with the way the
NAS does server duty. My

Interim result -- I finally got annoyed enough to simply uninstall
SqueezePlay entirely and then re-install the beta from scratch. Good
news: it no longer gives me the DirectIO error. Bad news: on my XP
machine, it simply hangs after displaying the initial Free Your Music

machine was a problem. I'll grant that this computer is far from new (I
think I built it around five years ago) and is only running an AMD
5600+, so it doesn't compare with modern builds.
SqueezeCast works fine on a standard install but requires access to the
CLI port. If you have a LinkStation Pro NAS device, which comes with a
pre-installed version of SBS but blocks the CLI port, you're SOL with
that app. (This may be the case with other SBS/LMS installs on an NAS
