I've got a pair of A5's in my office, which is less than half the size
of your room. They sit close to the wall and are played at a fairly
low volume. Although they sound good by themselves, I have a
subwoofer, which kicks in after a few seconds, and it really adds a lot
when it comes on. With
Have you tried them further away? I noticed a substantial difference
moving them to about a foot away - the bass port is at the rear and I
really think they want a bit of room. That said they were close to a
wall AND on the floor so I don't know whether it was the height or the
wall distance
My A5's are mounted on cheap wall brackets, which only leave around 5 cm
behind the speakers, but they still sound great and look good as they're
quite close to the wall.

I have a similar sizes room with an Sb3 and A5s and it is an awesome
combination. You'd think it would cost considerably more...both
products are really excellent and they work very well together.

It all depends indeed on how the system will be used. But in any case,
for professional use I would tend to spread out the speaker system. It
means that you would have more speakers, but the result is that the
sound is more evenly spread all over the area.
With the dimensions of your room I
Thanks for all of the advice. I'm pretty much convinced to go down the
SB3+A5 approach.
Just one more question. How do you A5 owners mount the speakers? Is it
going to have to be stands to get the rear space or can they be wall
mounted on long brackets? I considered putting them on a shelf, but
i found some cheap stands on audioadvisor.com that fit my A5s perfectly
(bringing tweeters ~ ear level at typical listening position), and also
bought some rubber-feet for isolation. i painted the stands white. it
looks and sounds fantastic, no one would think it's a $1k setup. still
amazes me.
I installed a pair of active A5s for my sister in her den nearly a year
ago, in a room comparable in size to the one you are planning an
installation. The A5s are about 3' from the walls in one of the room's
corners. An SB3 drives them directly.
This setup sounds fantastic. You really can have a

Thats' a fairly large room. I think you would do well with the A5s. I
have the A2s and absolutely love them.
Would not hesitate to repurchase. The A5s would fit that room perfectly
although you they have to be brought away from the walls a bit;
however, I would suggest that you'd have to do
I have a SqueezeBox with the A2s in my kitchen which is a similar size
(although slightly lower ceilings) and it fills that fine, in fact I've
not had it anywhere near full volume. They are pretty beefy! :)
