I'v second that, but "processed mode's" probably includes bassmanagment,
this is in most cases done digitaly. If you use the subwoofer for steroe
sources then you have to use the digital input for best result

Agreed with Fletch - your problem is almost certainly with the Denon,
the SB always outputs on optical, coax and analog all the time. You
need to decide which "input" you want to map the SB to - eg "CD": then
go to the input mapping menu and tell the Denon that the CD input is
coming in to coax 2
Either type of digital output should "just work". Most Denon's have a
menu that requires you to assign each digital input to the desired
input source. Have you confirmed that's set up correctly?

I am struggling to connect the Squeezebox to the correct spot on the AV
receiver. I have tried coax, optical3 and still no music output. Is
there an easier way for a beginner to get connected?
