Yea, it's a quad-core with 6G of RAM and 5x 1.5T disks. It runs a
number of things including Squeezecenter, some VMs, etc. Last

Is that so unusual? My fridge seems to be rated around 60W averaged out
- that's pretty low for a regular PC. My server is lower
Hi, today on my SB Classic, I have the power plugged into the switched
outlet on my AV receiver, so that the squeezebox turns on when I switch
on the AV receiver.
I am replacing the SB with a transporter and want to know if doing this
might damage the transporter. If I blow my SB Classic it is

Such a mode doesn't exist :)
The only way to switch off a SB3 or transporter is to pull the power.
Pressing the power button just tells the server what screen to show,
brightness level and to stop playing. That is all.
I do the opposite. I leave my TP on all the time and use IR-Blaster to
turn my amplifier on/off when I want to play music. The amplifier uses
a lot more power than the TP. The TP will typically use about $3-5/year
in electricity. That's about 1% of the power I use in my house.

this goes to running music equipment.
Me and my SO use about 250kwh/month. The TP is about 2.6kwh/month
(1%).
My primary PC which I use for working from home, running squeezecenter,
etc uses about 80kwh/month (30%), but I
