The remote for Squeezebox Touch works fine and so should the Transporter
remote, so if you get one of those .
Touch remote does not have the brightness button , so hopefully you
have the SB2 set to auto upgrade fw

Look at the remote's LED through a digital camera. You should see the
LED glow on the camera's screen when you press a button. If it doesn't
glow, try wiggling the batteries the LED see if it does. Chances
are it's just a duff connection on either the battery terminals or the
LED itself. Both

My point is that it would be cool to have a Touch Screen remote the size
of the Touch or bigger that you could put any where in your house or
have it with you in your listening position. I use my Touch as a
source for my whole house sound and as a source for my main rig.

Flattermann,
I think that it should be a squeezebox product rather than a third
party. Essentially a duet with a touchscreen remote and it would be
cool if you could output video to your display (like apple TV) to show
what was playing and possibly handle video's, movies etc.

I was sitting last night listening to my Touch on my main system

I think that there should be a battery powered remote with the touch

Hi people,
I just bought a Squeezebox Duet, and store my music on a Synology
DS210j NAS box.
Whenever I pick up my remote (after leaving it down for a while) the
diplay says Please Wait for about 60-90 seconds, before I can start
navigating the menus.
Why??
I have tried running Squeezebox
A power saving feature in the remote (controller) is that it will sleep
after a certain amount of time. This is what is happening.
If it is sleeping too quickly for you or if you rather it didn't sleep
at all, you can change it in the controller settings.
I don't have a controller in front of
Hello!
Yes, the Controller (or SBC for SqueezeBox Controller as it is more
familiarly known on the Forum) does go into suspended mode and usually
takes a while to recover. You can disable this by going to
Settings-Advanced-Factory Test-Power management. Here you can set the

Thanks for your answers, but... :-)
Whats exactly does the following menu items mean:
Sleep Timeout (values from 10 to 120)
Suspend Timeout (values from 10 to 3600)
Suspend Enabled (true or false)
Wireless Power Save (true or false)
??
Can't seem to find these documented anywhere
Again,
My remote for my several years old Squeezebox (non-wireless) has died.
Can someone please help me find where to buy a new one? I've looked in
the online store and have only been able to find remote models for the
newer devices (e.g. squeezebox boom).
thanks!

They no longer sell the identical SB3 infrared remote as a separate
item, but you can get the backlit IR remote on this page:
https://secure.slimdevices.com/categories.php?category=Accessories
It's basically the same as the remote you have, except that it's
backlit.

If you are certain it is dead you may as well pry it open and check the
solder connections.
A common issue with the SB3 remotes is that the solder connections of
the eye that sends the IR commands can become loose or broken if
dropped.
You have nothing to lose if it is truly DEAD! :)

I'm very satisfied with an iPod Touch and iPeng.
The user interface and control are very nice.
Of course, it's over a hundred bucks more than that suggested above.

Thanks Aubuti and Toby10!
I went ahead and popped it open, and sure enough, the solder
connections for the transmitter eye were cracked.
Warmed up the soldering iron, applied to leads, and all is well now.
I think I will go ahead and pick up an extra remote though.
thanks again!

Somehow along the way, probably during a big cleaning, we managed to

We get along OK by pulling the cord if we need to power-cycle it, and
we get some functionality out of the TV multiremote by using a JVC

Please make sure all your players have a name

Felix,
Yes my player has a blank name; I bet you that is the problem. I will
test it when I get home
I just installed 7.0 and my remote doesn't control my Squeezebox any
longer. If I reboot the squeezebox I can contol it until it connects to
