I agree - I suspect SB is a product just too clever for the high

Slimserver preinstalled. Connect this box to your router and then

This has been discussed quite a bit, but in summary (SB3 vs M1001):
Yes, the DAC is much better quality in the SB3. It also doesn't
resample everything to 48kHz like the Roku.
Roku screen is 280x16, SB3 is 320x32.
Roku RAM is 16mb, SB3 is 64MB (more memory == less skipping)
Roku only does
I posted links to some tests before... you can search for them under my
posts. The roku doesn't come near their claimed specs in the test. We
on the other hand do.
