I bought a readynas duo. Yes it will run SbS. But it is extremely SLOOW in terms of the user inferface (Web GUI or ipeng on Iphone). It was too painful. I quit using it for SbS. I went to a vortexbox appliance and couldn't be happier. Also cheaper than a READYNAS. I think the readynas Pro

If you like something new, the best options are: - Vortexbox appliance - Custom built mini-itx machine - An old computer - Sheevaplug Regular NAS boxes aren't optimized to run server software like Squeezebox Server. It works on some of them but the performance is usually poor unless you get a

Like garym I used to use my ReadyNAS Duo as my SB server. However, having recognised how slow it was and consequently how many excellent plugins I wasn't able to use properly I decided to take a different approach. I now still use my readynas as my network storage but I have a new Mac Mini
