The newer of my two Transporters died a similar death this week.
Fortunately I order two of those linked power supplies 3 years ago.
Same surgery, same result. I can safely conclude that the life of a
Transporter power supply is 7-8 years. Good as new...until the older
unit's dies in 4 years f
Back in business! The hardest part for me, a rather inexperienced and
klutzy fix-it guy, was getting inside the unit, i.e. figuring out what
screws needed to be removed and finding the right tool tool (1/16th hex)
to do that.
I get all nervous whenever I figure that, uh oh, I'm going to figure

Usually what comes next is the unit will fail to power on. (Until you
get a new PSU)

Thanks Gary! I'll probably order one.
(another weird thing, to me, is that the buttons, e.g. pause and play,
still work too.)
