As I can't seem to fix this I thought I'd ask for help.
When I browse Artists everything seems fine ... untill I get to this

Yup, that will be some rogue ARTISTSORT (or equivalent) tags. I'm not
familiar with the tagger you mention: mp3tag http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
is the one I and many others use. Use it to have a look at ALL the
tags on the files.
Are these mp3 files? If so you might want to try asking mp3tag
sorry, forgot to mention that all files are FLAC.
Will try and find the rogue tags, but nothing has turned up so far.

I had the same problem a year or so ago. I used mp3tag to add an
ARTISTSORT field in which I entered the artist's name. It sorted
correctly after that.
