Kitchen: Creative Gigaworks T20 - PC orientated but good in a smaller
room. Very pleased with the sound.
Office: Aego M - very pleased with this set-up
Lounge: M-Audio BX5a - studio near field monitor. Not as good a sound
as I hoped but this may be due

i'm thinking about getting some powered speakers to get rid of the need
for a seperate amp between my squeezeboxes and speakers.
are there any decent ones out there. doing a search on google and i
keep ending up with links to speakers designed more for PC's rather than
playing relatively good

Receiver has RCA out, that should work with most.

Now being the owner of a set of A5s and a set of Aego Ms (with two SB3s)
I have to say that I do find that the Aego M suit me more in a room
where less power/oomph is needed. The A5s are a lot punchier IMO, as
pablolie suggests.
Only thing I MAY consider for when we have parties is a separate

is fanless - I presume it runs pretty hot?

I have the Audioengine A5s. Excellent speakers. They are in a large
kitchen though and give plenty of sound. I'd likely consider the Aego
Ms for smaller rooms though. I have to say I'm just not that keen on
2.1 sets.

At the moment the output is fed through an old boombox, which works OK,
but is a bit cumbersome and unsightly.
This SB3 is located in a wooden summerhouse at the bottom of the garden

I think the Apple speakers, the Ipod Hi-Fi, is a brilliant, low-cost
solution with pretty good sound quality. I am an audiophile with
McIntosh labs equipment, but needed something portable for a summer
house. These worked perfectly, providing inputs from any source and
