[slim] SlimServer not finding files on NAS

I am running SlimServer on a Dell laptop and pulling music files from a local NAS (Buffalo Linkstation). The Dell plays the music just fine through iTunes, but even after rescanning the library several times, SlimServer keeps telling me my music library contains 0 albums, 0 songs by 0 artists.

Strangely enough, I've never had this problem with Ogg playback and my whole collection is encoded with a non-Xiph encoder (aoTuV). I think it actually has more to do with bitrate than whether an encoder is standard or not. Ogg bitrates can fluctuate quite a bit within a single track, and I

I had exactly the same problem today while replacing my ancient RedHat 5.x slimserver with a new Ubuntu build. Edit /etc/default/slimserver and comment out the HTTP_ADDR line. Then cd to the /etc/rc2.d directory and type: ./S20slimserver restart to restart the server. -- TNisbet
