phew, relief! When I didn't get the notifications I thought that it was because I used an old email account (which might have been canceled) so I used the User CP to change to my new email account! [slim] MAC not set! error on Boom
its been i while since i posted here - mainly because everything has been working smoothly for the last 18 months or so. but after we recently came back from vacation, our Boom's display just said MAC not set! and refused to operate. it would not connect to WLAN (according to my DHCP server) either. i tried re-configuring the networking, which actually worked (!), but the device is not being recognized by SC (i still run 7.3.3 - 27044) as what it was, since i am seeing the default menu-structure and display setup for new players. it's original name of Boom has reverted back to Squeezebox as well. my DHCP server says it indeed has a new MAC address: 30-04-10-0E-DB-53. whereas previously it was: 00-04-20-1E-DB-53. we also have two SB Classics, both of which also use the 00-04-20- address range, so i am assuming that is the normal squeezebox MAC address range. so where does the 30-04-10-... address come from? and more importantly: how do i get the original MAC address back and the MAC not set! message cleared? btw.: i did already try a xilinx reset (pressing 1 while applying power), but that had no effect. thanks in advance for any help! -- dcote dcote's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9701 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83485 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] MAC not set! error on Boom
From the now playing screen hold the left arrow button on the remote until the setup neworking screen appears. Scroll until you see current settings and select that option. There will be about 15 screens, scroll until you see MAC Address and compare with the sticker on the bottom of the Boom. If the don't match you can correct the MAC Address, then you will probably have to setup networking again. -- ghostrider ghostrider's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18959 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83485 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Announce: Album Catalog Creator v3
Thank you very much for your answers. I have played around with the parameters and found that I get the most information on the least amount of space with 118 tracks per page, max. 5 album rows per page and then reducing to 80% when printing and cutting the border to almost zero. I use the album catalog on my cell phone while I'm in CD shops for example, that's why I need to cramp as much information into as little space as possible. The one main thing I really just don't understand though is why creating 'pages' when creating the HTML files really doesn't seem to correspond in any way to what actually happens when you print. (I understand that I probably just don't understand the technical background enough.) But in practice I'm assuming that this leads to most people (using the default settings) creating very ugly catalogs in PDF which usually look like this: One normal page, then one half filled page, then again one normal page, etc. etc. -- maximus maximus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41211 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74452 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Alternate scan ideas
Would it be hard to scan every 2 or 3 days? (Or X days for that matter?) What about checking the days of the week we want to do a complete (or other) rescan (or both?) Re: [slim] Alternate scan ideas
You can use the Rescan Music Library to rescan once per day. The scanner in 7.5 is a separate program, so you could also launch it from a script or batch file using some other scheduler. Running scanner.pl (scanner.exe) will show you a list of options. Code: Usage: scanner.pl [debug options] [--rescan] [--wipe] [--itunes] [--musicip] path or URL Command line options: --forceForce a scan, even if we think a scan is already taking place. --cleanup Run a database cleanup job at the end of the scan --rescan Look for new files since the last scan. --wipe Wipe the DB and start from scratch --playlistsOnly scan files in your playlistdir. --itunes Run the iTunes Importer. --musicip Run the MusicIP Importer. --progress Show a progress bar of the scan. --json FILEWrite progress information to a JSON file. --prefsdir Specify alternative preferences directory. --priority set process priority from -20 (high) to 20 (low) --logfile Send all debugging messages to the specified logfile. --logdir Specify folder location for log file --logconfigSpecify pre-defined logging configuration file --debugvarious debug options --quietkeep silent Examples: scanner.pl --rescan /Users/dsully/Music scanner.pl http://www.somafm.com/groovesalad.pls -- JJZolx JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83499 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
