Cheers, Rich Hmmm, I'm not at home so can't check my readynas duo. But I'm almost positive that ITUNES itself can't be installed on the readynas. There is a program on the READYNAS that can stream your itunes music, etc. (maybe an itunes share, I forget, because I don't use it) and the music files can certainly be on your NAS. Best approach I think is to simply install itunes on the laptop (don't move anything, just install from apple website). Then point your itunes library location to the files on the NAS. But I could be entirely wrong on this because although I have a readynas duo, I use it only for some file storage and not for itunes or SbS/LMS. Just because the iTunes music files or program files are on your share on the NAS, it doesn't mean iTunes is _installed_ on your NAS. If you are running iTunes on your laptop then it is installed on your laptop. If you are running the program files from the NAS share, that is probably not a good idea. [slim] album artwork, tagging etc
Hi: I am running squeezebox server on a Mac G5. All my music sits on an external hard drive and is 95% flac format files that have been converted from CD. Some were converted using dbpoweramp and some using another software (cant remember the name, it was shareware). The files that were done with dbpoweramp mostly seem to have artwork, others don't. A few CD's seem to have gone into a folder of their own that have the flac's and a jpg with artwork. not sure how this happened. Can someone recommend a mac compatible software that can tag artwork and organize files? When i look at the main directory it is just a bunch of flac files, not organized by artist or album. However it seems to come into squeezebox fine, without artwork. This is sad that we all seem to be giving up on them. I don't think AirPlay is a true alternative--one major limitation is that you cannot easily have zones if you're using iTunes as your library. iTunes can only play one song at a time. To me the beauty of the Squeezebox system was that it was multi-zone, relatively open (see the large number of plugins developed) and the HW was good quality. As for hardware, I'm looking for a headless player, one that can sit in my A/V cabinet. It would be good to see Logitech also develop another high-end player, but horses might fly. -- Juggler Juggler's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4935 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92973 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Maybe you can use my experience with this: I also had a problem with the encryption password on my Wi-Fi when I got my first Duet. So, in my case my password was e.g. like this 1234567890123456. This I had to enter on the Duet as the ASCII code, which in practice meant that I added the number 3 in front of each digit, i.e. 31323334353637 (because the character 2 is 32 ASCII). Just to rule out the obvious, you are still using a wired (ethernet) connection between the server and the new router, right? The router manual makes no mention of WOL, but I agree it sounds as if it is failing to relay the WOL packet to the server. Have you tried doing WOL using one of the many utilities available? I expect it won't work either, but it's worth checking just to rule out the possibility that there's some new problem with the SB that happens to coincide with the new router's arrival. Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Orange Squeeze 1.0 for Android Released
Since I like to support the community, I bought your app and installed it on a Nook Color running CM7.1 General feedback is that it's quite usable. I really like how you've made it clear which tab you're on and where you'll be by swiping left and right. Wasn't sure if I wanted a 'rollover' mode like ipeng, but after some use I think it's clearer with just 3 tabs. I feel like some of the UI elements could be resized for devices with more screen real estate than a phone like 7 and larger tablets. Also, a request -- make it SUPER EASY to jump right to favorites. I have a pretty large favorites list split into directories and most of my use of LMS and squeezeboxes involves navigating my favorites menu.
