Re: [slim] Planned outage - Wed April 4th

2012-04-10 Thread Ron Olsen

It would be great if you could update (again!) to vBulletin 4.1.12 and
provide support for Forum Runner.

See
https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php/399363-vBulletin-4-1-12-FULL-has-been-released-(vBulletin-com-upgraded)
and
https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/content.php/735-Why-Should-I-Activate-Forum-Runner

Forum Runner integrates seamlessly with vBulletin 4.1.12, and provides
a better mobile interface than Tapatalk.

[slim] Problem with RSS Podcast subscription with lots of podcasts.

2012-04-10 Thread Orberi

I use the podcast app to subscribe to a number of RSS feeds. One feed
has developed an issue. For some reason the app no longer lists podcasts
on this particular feed after number 373. All the earlier podcasts are
working fine but new ones don't even show in the list. the RSS feed is

Has anyone else seen this?

Re: [slim] Help needed setting up iTunesUpdate in LMS!

The text file containing the play history should appear in your configured LMS
playlist directory.
You then run iTunesUpdate.pl on it.

vBulletin 4.1.12 was only just announced as being available yesterday (I
have a site I run that uses it, which is how I know)... Given that they
just upgraded the forums here and are still working out small bugs and
kinks, I'm sure they will upgrade to the new version when it's a good
time for them to do so.

Re: [slim] Help needed setting up iTunesUpdate in LMS!

2012-04-10 Thread Finchy

Thanks for the reply James.

I am trying to run the following from the command line;

C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe C:\Users\Finchy\My Music\iTunes\iTunesUpdate.pl
iTunes_Hist.txt

but it says it cannot open the perl script as there is no such file or
directory. Both the iTunesUpdate.pl and the iTunes_Hist.txt are in that
folder, and Perl is in the C:zPerl\bin folder. Any ideas?

I have the latest version of iTunes I presume that should still be
fine?

If you view it in a 1920 pixel wide window you're going to see a lot of
 white space.

It does look like minimal effort went into fitting it into the page
framework, with the Squeezebox header and footer, but the same was true
of the previous forum skin. For example, why, if you want to have a
black page background, do you only have two or three pixels of it
exposed on the right and left sides? And why is there always a
horizontal scroll bar present that moves the screen a couple of pixels?

I am saying the lead columns (after the featureless icon jumble) is
extremely wide and I'm still 1280x1024. (Times two monitors.)

There should be no further dispute of whether the update was expedient.
Ancient like me is bad.

The question is whether LOGITECH is paying attention. NO: the question
is whether LOGITECH offers offal.

4 years unlimited data cloud for $150. Dirt cheap. Or backup to a

+1 on Crashplan.

All cloud based backups are only going to be as fast as the bandwidth
you have and they provide. I've got a fairly slow DSL link with 6MBs
down and .6 up. It took about 4 months for me to fully backup 700+g of
flac music and pictures. But, if you've got a large library of stuff
to backup, you need a service that isn't going to cost you big.
Crashplan is unlimited with a great pricetag - particularly if you go
multi-year with the family plan which supports up to 10 computers.

[slim] Car stereo

2012-04-10 Thread Fahzz

If this is too off topic i apologize in advance, but I'm hoping someone
here can give me a credible answer.

I have a brand new vehicle (Yay!). The audio head unit will accept a USB
drive, and I now have 64 gigs of Mp3's on random play, which is kind of
like having Radio Paradise in my car.

The Mp3's are from various sources, and I notice a significant volume
difference between tracks, notwithstanding setting replay gain as album
using Foobar 3000. Does anybody know if car stereos read replay gain
tags? The members on the car audio forums don't seem to know about
replay gain.

The car is an Acura with a base Panasonic audio system.

Thanks.

these things ripped from a disc or created from some higher source?
If the FLAC file was created from a disk rip, was it secure? etc. All

Checksum is your friend...it is very simple to test a download with
