Hi
I have always turned my LMS laptop manually, but it has occurred to me
that maybe I can utilise sleep/wakeup function of Windows to make things
a bit more sophisticated than this.
At the moment I have set up Windows power options (and LMS server) to
not enter sleep mode to avoid interruption
Not sure if this thread helps:

I had similar issues where SqueezePlay refused to connect locally.
I've just re-installed Win8 (again), but luckily kept a backup of the
settings.
There are 2 (or 3) .lua that need

Any advice ?

Look at the Server power control plugin. It will do exactly what you
are interested in.
Thanks
So this would be via plugin rather than configuring Windows ?

I can't see a Power server plugin, just PowerCenter and PowerSave
neither of which appears to control win 8 sleep/wakeup...
You need to enter this in the Extension Downloader box on the plugins

Exactly:
- PowerSave plugin to turn off each player after a period of inactivity
- ServerPowerControl to sleep your server after a period of all players
being off.

I have the case here now, so I'll get the standard back panel drawn up
shortly. If you still want to send me the mockup board with the
connectors on, I'll get that sorted ASAP.

I acquired a new Asus Laptop with Win 8, I upgraded it to Win 8.1.
After a week trying, I can't get my Squeezeboxen to wake the thing up.
I've installed nothing but LMS, which works fine.
The wireless mouse, and keyboard/mouse pad wake it no problem.
Anyone got their players to wake a Win 8
You have to go to properties on your LAN interface to enable it.
Go to DeviceManager and find your LAN interface.
Then select Advanced tab.
In the list find Wake on magic packet and enable it
It might also be possible that you have to enable something in BIOS

OK, I found how to get into the BIOS in Win 8:

Nothing in there seems to have anything to do with the problem though :(

In SlimDiscovery.lua make sure that:
- currentPlayer is set to same value as playerId
- serverInit IP is set to your LMS machine

Nope, it slides into slots in the case and is held in by the front and
back panels. As long as the dimensions are right it
It wouldn't hurt to try adding it... It is in the form

The quotes are in the string, replace everything between the quotes with
your servers IP address.

There's no need to anchor any of the gang connectors to prevent them
from flexing when connecting cables? As with the CIAudio DAC shown
above? There are going to be screws. A couple more won't make the device
any more difficult to assemble.
Also, if you copypasta'd that setting string note there is an extraneous
space in the second MAC address.
This is my equivalent:
