Re: [slim] Are Logitech & Slim Devices Squeezeboxs the same? And a new unit will just work?
My Logitech Squeezebox has just died so I want to buy a replacement. I can see some secondhand Slim Devices version for sale, which look the same apart from obviously the logo. Are they the same? Yes. Will I just be able to plug it in, point it to my network, and it'll carry on as per my beloved dead unit? Will it even take on all my display settings I've programmed for my old one (in Squeeze Server), such as using super date time etc? No, per-player settings will not be carried over to the new unit. I think there's a plugin to do this, though. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Have you considered setting up a Raspberry Pi as a player, rather than picking up a second hand pre-Logitech squeezebox? Probably a cheaper option. Re: [slim] SBT showing wrong time in LMS after power outage
If that doesn't work you might try to reset to the original settings on the Settings Reboot page. I use piCorePlayer now and had to reinstall it to the SD card and start from scratch after a power failure. Unfortunately I suspect you might have to do that to. The cards can get corrupted during a power failure. I've tried that and all it does is move the time forwards or backwards by an hour each time depending what zone you choose. The clock on the SBT is about 6 or 7 minutes ahead, and I can't see any easy way of fixing that.
