Re: [slim] Squeezebox suddenly stopped working help please
Don't forget the obvious - a bad physical ethernet connection. Have you tried different Ethernet cables ? Have you visually checked the Ethernet socket of the SB player thta al the 8 pins in the socket are still present & straight. Can you change the device at the other end of the cable - if necessary carry SB player closer to router and use earphones to test audio. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109713 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] squeezebox player stopped connecting to server after 10+ years of no problems
Following an update to the firmware on my netgear router and extender my players and boom no longer connect to the server although the radio does. Everything is connected vis homeplugs. if I connect to the router directly I get full connectivity but not so with the extender. I have ordered another extender to see if that works. Upto the Netgear upgrade I have had no problems connecting to the server which is on a CocktailAudio x100, so it might be worth checking your router extender. Re: [slim] SqueezePlay for Windows with ASIO, DirectSound, WASAPI and WDMKS device support.

I assumed we were talking about squeezeplay, since you asked in a squeezeplay thread. Squeezeplay crashed as soon as it tried to change the device sample rate, that's why support for those apis was removed. Squeezelite supports all windows audio apis. However, squeezelite doesn't include the portaudio.dll anymore, it is compiled directly into the executable. I will experiment with how to use your script (how often to run it, how often to rescan playlist etc.). FYI: nc is already installed (it used in your one-liner solution too). I think sed is also installed but I will install it if not (same for awk). Thanks for the inspiration to use shell scripts and CLI togehter. Perhaps I can think of other ways of enhancing LMS functionality with these tools in hand. If you're able to open the web interface to the server it's telling you that the server is at least running, a quick test you can do when the player is unable to connect. You shouldn't have to change anything, I'd even advice against it, just set it to automatically get IP through DCHP and then never touch it. With a few exceptions, setting IP addresses manually gives no major benefits and has a tendency to cause a lot of weird problems. Another thing, I believe you said that you changed from wireless to ethernet, did you change the configuration in the Squeezebox to use the wired connection instead of the wireless? alfista's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32396 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109713 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Sometimes this causes the SB3 to now show more instances of LMS running on your network. Run as Admin on Windows: Start > All Programs > LMS > LMS (right click, select Run as Admin) I wouldn't suggest messing around with manually inputting IP info for any device, unless you really know what you are doing. I have 4 SB players, and numerous other network devices, all using only DHCP/auto. Never a problem. The sole exception is my networked printer which has a reserved IP so all devices always know where it is. toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109713 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
