I think I found the problem. In the custom-convert.conf I was using
$FILE$ instead of $URL - this is OK for transcoding files but not
streams with URLs. Luckily ffmpeg can handle the "file://" URL type so
MP4 transcoding of files is not broken by adding support for MP4
streams.
Can you test.
Interesting to read!

Indeed. It makes more sense to improve mobile internet coverage than to
deploy a parallel FM infrastructure.

Ah, yes, Neil Young is a perfect example of how even if you are a great
musician, it doesn't mean you have any clue about how audio works.

Norway switched off its FM in December 2017.
It uses DAB+ radio. This is far better than the below 128kBPS mp3
quality that we have to put up with in brexitland.

wow, i never thought i'd see this. unlike TV, which made sense to go

for a variety of reasons...

I should have added that I'm using the Mixcloud plugin v0.1.5 from
Christian Mueller and Daniel Vijge, which is the most recent offering on
the LMS Plugins tab.

I've been listening to music via Mixcloud for a couple of years now.
Most of the time I follow the same DJ. For what it's worth, here's is my
current configuration and the results:
I have a Mixcloud API key
My stream format is set to: "Always use MP4 format"
I'm a "free" listener

sounds like its all good then?
Are you ready to release it to the World?
Back to a previous post on if its essential or not; I had a Touch in my
front room for years (probably 8) and over the last 2/3 have streamed
Mixcloud with no probs, ive moved the Touch to the bedroom so can still
stream it

I think found the problem - under "free" account, user can only play the
same mix 3 times in a 14 day period.

Have you set plugin up to do MP4 ?
The "not human" comes in from a site called mixcloud-downloader which I
think is MP3 download and not MP4 stream but I am

I don't use these services - my interest came from enabling the
transcoding of streamed MP4 from other sources besides podcasts.
Is Mixcloud a "popular" plugin like Spotty ,

The mixcloud plugin doesn't seem to work for me. Yesterday a few mixes
would work - today none - it looks like access is being challenged by
mixcloud authorisation.
Others have had the same issues
