It'll be easier to set up, be more reliable and probably cost

Truth is that Win98 is a bad choice for any kind of server. I highly

I believe that this bug is fixed in the latest 6.1 pre-release
nightly version.
Try downloading that http://www.slimdevices.com/nightly.html and
let us know if your problem is fixed.

You'll need to open up 3483 for TCP for SB and SB2, as they both use
TCP connections for control.
The old UDP visualizer timing packets should be disabled in the
latest firmware, the SB1 visualizer was experimental and was never
turned on in released software.

That disk io error looks a bit scary. To be safe, I'd run Disk Utility.
Once that's done and you are confident your disk is in good shape,
try deleting Home - Library - SlimServer
which will delete your database files.
Then restart.
