The songs do seem to have tags. The ones that were not encoded using dbpoweramp just have the album, artist, date, genre, title, and track number (but not 1 of 8 for example, just track 1). The ones done by dbpoweramp seem to have everything. All the files have similar names, ie 01 A night on the Town.flac or 01 Brown Sugar.flac Does this help? Hi: I am running squeezebox server on a Mac G5. All my music sits on an external hard drive and is 95% flac format files that have been converted from CD. Some were converted using dbpoweramp and some using another software (cant remember the name, it was shareware). The files that were done with dbpoweramp mostly seem to have artwork, others don't. A few CD's seem to have gone into a folder of their own that have the flac's and a jpg with artwork. not sure how this happened. Can someone recommend a mac compatible software that can tag artwork and organize files? When i look at the main directory it is just a bunch of flac files, not organized by artist or album. However it seems to come into squeezebox fine, without artwork. I have to admit that my database is somewhat of a mystery. i think that it is because i converted to flac using 2 different programs (dbpoweramp and the other one I cant remember). the only thing that seems to read everything is squeezebox server, but without artwork. [slim] web interface problems
hi: I posted a message earlier and am still having some issues. I upgrades this morning to 7.6.1 and it seems to have worked fine. Still having issues with the web interface tho - i can only use the classic which seems to have no artwork etc. When I switch to default it's whacked - doesn't display most of the interface etc. I'm running SC on a Mac G5 using Safari, which has always worked very well. As far as I know no settings were changed and Safari works fine for other sites etc. Anyone else seen anything like this?? [slim] skin issue
Hi, When I went to boot up SC this morning i got a message at the top saying to use an updated browser or switch to a classic skin, which i did. It's sort of a black and white stripped down skin, I cant even find a settings button to find out what happened. i don't think anything changed on the computer although it is a family computer so who knows what magical thing the kids might have done. Any ideas what happened?? i am running a really old version of SC on a MAC so I should probably update anyway, any suggestions as to which version is the most stable? Will stuff like favorites and podcasts come across into the new version? Hi: I have a XM account for my car radio(in Canada) and am looking to play it through squeezebox in my home. I notice under the settings\plugins I see that the Sirius plugin is checked but I cant find anything in the web interface. Thanks for any suggestions. One other quick question, I am running 7.3.3 (don't laugh)on a Mac with OSX 10.4. I really have no issues at all, and am worried about upgrading, is the latest version worth the risk? I know this is a subjective question, but any opinions are more than welcome. Hi: I just converted a bunch of music into flac format using dbpoweramp and loaded it into my music library. I rescanned the library and everything came across fine, but some of the albums have artwork and others don't. My question is once it is in the library is there a way to get album artwork like in itunes? [slim] internet radio problems
I am having a problem where internet radio won't play using squeezecenter (cant resolve ip address opml.rad message) but does work using squeezenetwork. My internet connection is fine, and i can stream music from my library using squeezecenter, but not radio. i have rebooted the computer and reset the squeezebox but no luck. Any ideas?? Hi: I am ripping cd's with dbpoweramp and the artwork seems to be showing up ok. My question is what do I need to do in SC for it to recognize the artwork? Is there a place to specify the path for artwork? I posted a thread in the beginner forum asking about switching to SC using a Mac instead of a PC (I was worried how well it would run on a Mac). I got no nibbles, so last night I went ahead and did it. Because of the location of computers in our household it makes the most sense to have it on the kitchen Mac. I downloaded SC 7.3 onto the Mac and with a few glitches got it running. What a difference! I dont know if its the computer location, new SC version, or the Mac platform, but all of a sudden this thing works the way I always hoped it would. Hi: I am using a squeezebox with squeezecenter and everything was great until I signed up for squeezenetwork. Now squeezecenter (on the computer)gives an error message that player not found. i got an email when i signed up for squeezenetwork that my player had been registered to another account. When i go into settingsplayer is says player not found, but settingsstatus shows the player with an ip address. On top of it all, the squeezebox works fine for both squeezecenter and squeezenetwork as long as you are doing it from the remote, just nothing on the computer. I am sorry if this is just a rant, but I am so frustrated with Squeezecenter and the Squeezebox. I can understand why internet radio is flakey, but how can Squeezebox (newest version) be so buggy? Ok, I've taken a deep breath. I am running squeezecenter 7.0 on Windows XP. I added all my CD's using EAC. In squeezecenter I have a lot of problems doing simple stuff like veiwing albums (it hangs). Today for the first time I tried making a playlist for a BIG party we are having tonight (hence my ill advised freak out). The anti-virus may have something do do with it, seems a little stabler. I am running a wireless setup with a dlink router, other computers run ok using this router. I have to agree with some of the posts regarding the suitability of the squeezebox etc for everyday use. I am in no way a techie, but have been using computers since we thought editing config.sys and autoexec.bat was pretty high tech. It just seems there are a lot of issues with this system, especially concerning streaming internet radio. I travel a lot, and more times than often I come home to my wife complaining that the @#$^^! radio isn't working. Not to mention that the help documentation provided, perhaps for anyone except IT professionals, is essentially useless. No question that it is a great concept, and probably the way of the future. I am running a wireless squeezebox using an apple airport extreme router. All of a sudden, with no changes to anything, everything (library and internet radio) coming off the squeezebox has so much static you can't listen to it. CD player is fine, so it doesn't appear to be a speaker connection issue.
