be feasible if your library
consisted of mp3's - otherwise they would need to be transcoded from
flac or whatever on the fly and that probably isn't possible.

Actually, as a quick update I've found that the problem is that the
power supply I have with this particular squeezbox doesn't have the
little black box built into the lead. Not sure if that's relevant.

7.2 Slimserver (nightly downloaded yesterday and reinstalled).

I too had this problem at the weekend.
I noticed that two of my SB3's had the same IP address even though I
was using automatic IP assign.
Giving each of them a unique address (manually) fixed this for me.

Man, this problem has been around for what seems like a generation now.
I'm not sure why SlimDevices persist in not having an Album Artist
category in the Browse/Search menus.
Is there some technical reason why they don't just do this.

I think that's the whole point of the OP's post.
He is saying that although the source is the same for both playback
systems Winamp seems to 'Sound' better than Softsqueeze when playing
them back.

Yes, this is now happening on our SB3 system and seems to have been
introduced after installing 6.5.3.
Can someone tell me how to revert to an earlier firmware but keep
6.5.3?
I've searched but can't seem to find anything.

So to recap.
1)Don't use the COMPILATION tag
2)Make sure the there is a BAND tag in all your tracks showing what
would normally be the ALBUMARTIST
3)Make sure the Band/Orchestra tick box is ticked.
4)Clear and rescan.

Hi,
Can someone clarify whether the crossfade option applies an ingoing and
outgoing fade?
I would rather that the incoming song be started 5 to 10 seconds before
the outgoing song ends *without* adding any fades, so that the incoming
song retains it's impact.

There should be no audible difference between EAC and Audiograbber FLAC
files at all (unless one of them is adding some gain compenstaion or
normalisation) otherwise they wouldn't be truly lossless.

seconds after about 20 seconds or so and it starts stutteting again.
With 6.3 I used to be able to listen to shoutcast streams for hours but
now it's un-usable after a few minutes even on the most stable streams.

I just received notification that this may now be fixed as of 4th Oct
nightly. (bug #4215).
The windows .exe and .zip downloads don't seem to be up yet however.

WMA lossless is not currently supported natively. You can choose to
transcode to flac or wav. I don't think there are any plans for native
decompression as there are MS licensing issues.

I wonder if the designers at SD have considered having both AlbumArtist

I've noticed that when browsing by Artist in the Fishbone skin, there
are a couple of anomolies in the alphabetical ordering. There are one
or two stray artists that are not in the correct alphabetical position
in the list.

Also, looking at the bug database I notice a similar bug which reported
the same thing happening to flac files and as wma lossless is transcoded
to flac for playback it's probably the same bug.
