Re: [slim] HOW hot you Pi3 get?
I didn't think anyone used the CPU temperature graphing. :) The [Start] button starts a small script that writes the CPU temperature to a log file every minute. The [Refresh] button reads the temperature log file to generate a SVG graphic that is then displayed. After a reboot everything is gone and the script will need to be restarted. Without going through this process, the CPU temperature can be found by: 1. [Main Page] in [Beta] mode > [Diagnostics] > [Raspberry Pi] Or, 2. If Squeezelite is running on pCP then [Main Page] in [Beta] mode > [Extras] > [Test] will show the Diagnostics page of all pCP's running Squeezelite. regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107804 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

These are smartphone chips, totally designed to operate without dedicated cooling and will throttle themselves if it gets outside range. Unless you find it stuttering or slowing down, it's completely fine. -Transcoded from Matt's brain by Tapatalk- -- Hardware: 3x Touch, 1x Radio, 2x Receivers, 1 HP Microserver NAS with Debian+LMS 7.9.0 Music: ~1300 CDs, as 450 GB of 16/44k FLACs. Re: [slim] HOW hot you Pi3 get?
53°C is quite normal. It idles more or less around 50°C at room temperature. AFAIK the board is good for about 60°C ambient and the CPU over 100°C. Around 85°C CPU temp, cores start reducing frequency. I suppose the machine halts at 100°C or so. You can put a 50cts euro coin on top of the CPU, that will help a little bit. And it's cheap ;) Unless you run sox all the time for upsampling or something then you shouldn't need worry about temperature. 3 SB 3 Libratone Loop, Zipp Mini iPeng (iPhone + iPad) LMS 7.9 (linux) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput, Triode's BBC iPlayer by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix, Music Walk With Me, What Was That Tune? by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson AirPlay Bridge by philippe_44 WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107804 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] HOW hot you Pi3 get?
Hi I was reading somewhere here that when running LMS the CPU of the Pi3 is about 2% usage. So why is Pi3 that hot when nothing is running (except that squeezelite and LMS are on on pcP) when touching the USB (nothing on it) and in the middle of the Pi3 (CPU) how can you check, usage and Temp?
