OK I uninstalled, deleted the cache folder (and all folders from
previous installs). I then re-installed and scanned my library from
scratch - it completed OK. Now a few days later I find that the server
has stopped itself again. I attach the log.
This version doesn't stay up for longer than a
Older versions are here. If you're going back to 7.6, you may as well
install 7.6.2.

Many thanks. I will indeed go back to 7.6.2, as that seemed rock solid
on my server.

OK I just tried uninstalling, deleting all folders, then re-installing
from scratch. This time I got an unhandled win32 exception from the
scanner (4488). The last error message in the scanner log was:
Invalid or corrupt image file(code -4)
...but this error occurs many times in the log so I

Could this be anything to do with the fact that my main music folder is

Possibly. Where is the database?

The database is on the local Windows 2003 Server. This configuration
was never a problem for the last version of Squeezebox Server.

Disable as many of the built-in plugins as you can live without,
including UPnP/DLNA. Stop the server, clear the cache folder, cross
your fingers, restart.

Pardon my ignorance, but which folder is the cache folder? (I can't see
anything of that name in c:\program
Go into the web interface, Settings Information page. Near the bottom
of the page it shows the location of several folders. The cache folder
contains all of the server's data, including the databases, resized
cover art, etc. Looks like your library database is corrupt.

No problems for me either. I've been running squeezecentre in all its
various incarnations from 7.3 to 7.7 and never had a problem on my
Windows 2003 R2 Small Business Server. The server is also running
exchange and sharepoint and copes admirably.

1xRadio, 2xReceiver,
I've now uninstalled all plugins and it crashed again at some point over
the last couple of days (I can't tell when). The last few days of server
log is attached (I have a scan scheduled for 1am each morning). Does
this give any clues?
Tried deleting the whole cache folder ? Is this a clean install or
upgrade.
Do you run a lot of plugins ? disable all but thr logitech delivered
ones.
Here ends my knowledge I never used win2003 server.

I recently installed 7.7.0 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 machine and it
crashes regularly, requiring a restart. I've needed to downgrade to
back to the old server software.
Has anyone else had problems on Win2003?

No problems here. I have the server installed from the Windows installer
as well as one running from the Perl code on Windows Server 2003 SP2
(not R2).
Does it crash on its own, just sitting idle, or when you're doing
something in particular? Anything in the server.log?
Are you running any 3rd
