comparing two, 10,000 item lists and I don't like the sound of that

I also tried running SS with D_scan enabled but the txt file isn't long
enough to capture any
i've had the exact same problem since i first bought my sb. itunes
reports 6123 songs, while slimserver reports 6012. i have no idea what
the problem is, and i've never been able to fix it. when bought the sb
back in january i believe the software was 5.4 or something like that,

--d_scan
you'll get the entire scan in c:\myscan.txt

well, you could be comparing with the older listing that gave you 44 more
tracks. Or look in the scan for any can't read file-type errors.
If those don't exist, add d_info as a debugging option

Nope, XP SP1.
Vidur's last change has helped immensely but playback is still stopping
occasionally.

Steven - the DB fully supports UTF-8 encoding.
I had a look at the log and it is clearing files from the db, as they
have changed?? It does this when I go to look

I'll have to reinstall 6, I'll use the latest nightly and use itunes
enabled.
