Can you try using another USB 3 port on your laptop? Also ensure your
cables are fully seated. I've seen B2xx initialize as USB2 on a USB3 port
when the cable was not fully seated.

I have a USRP B205mini-i connected to a new Ubuntu 16.04 LTS laptop. The
USB hardware is a standard Intel chipset and lsusb and lshw all show the
hardware is in USB 3.0 mode. I've used external hard drives in the port
