Re: [slim] Tidal Buffering Issue
I have a question about LastMix - is there any bias towards pulling tracks from the local library vs the streaming service if the track is available in both? Totally OT here, but yes, LastMix would prefer the local track if available. But as the matching is done on track title and artist name only, this often fails due to different spelling, additional information in the name ("ft. xyz" vs. "(feat. xyz)" etc.). Please continue discussion in the LastMix thread if needed. -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Tidal Buffering Issue
Today I streamed 125 tracks starting from a 5 track seed playlist created from my local library using my setup with DSTM and LastMix. Over 8 hours of music without any buffering issues. Everything in the log file looks fine to me. Perhaps the upgrade to 7.9.1 solved the problem. I'm back to wondering if short internet dropouts were responsible for the rebuffering issues I was having. I have a question about LastMix. Is there any bias towards adding tracks from the local library vs the streaming service if the track is available in both? I ask because on occasion I have seen the same track (same song, artist, and album) added from Tidal that is available in my local library. I see in the info log for LastMix that there is a "checkTrack" function that looks at the local library for the artist but it doesn't seem to do that check for every track. 84tiger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14908 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110395 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Tidal streamed flac perfectly today on a long playlist that I stopped before DSTM had a chance to add any tracks. Today I streamed 125 tracks starting with a seed playlist of 5 tracks chosen from my local library using my setup with DSTM and LastMix. Over 8 hours of music without any buffering issues. Approximately 60% of the tracks were Tidal flac files. Everything in the server log looks fine to me. Perhaps the upgrade to 7.9.1 was the solution. I have selected Tidal, DSTM, and LastMix for debug. I'm very much a novice with regards to logging and evaluating the results. Do I need to make a selection on the first item of the logging menu "Please Select a log set"? I use Don't Stop the Music regularly - perhaps that's the culprit. Today 74 tracks into a 105 song playlist created on Tidal with no issues at all. FWIW, I also updated LMS to 7.9.1 from 7.9.0 last night so perhaps that helped. 84tiger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14908 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110395 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Tidal Buffering Issue
I recently upgraded my Tidal account to flac and I've experienced some of the same problems with Tidal buffering. I'm streaming wireless to an SB3 using proxied streaming. LMS on a Windows 10 desktop running 7.9 hardwired to router. All local flac files stream fine, Radio Paradise flac streams fine and Tidal directly to my laptop works fine. I typically access Tidal through ickStream - not sure if that matters or not. The problem is intermittent - hours of Tidal streaming with no issues at all and then rebuffering. Generally after rebuffering it will jump to the next track on the playlist and stream fine for some period of time. I'm somewhat suspicious of short internet dropouts causing the problems - someone on the forum mentioned the SB3's have a small buffer so even short dropouts could cause streaming issues. Not sure why it would only impact Tidal streams and not other streaming services. I need to install an uptime monitor on my laptop to try to see if there is a correlation between dropouts and streaming problems. FWIW, I have the exact same setup at a vacation property with LMS on a Windows 10 laptop with the same issues. 84tiger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14908 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110395 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Tidal Buffering Issue
Hey all, It's been a smooth year for me and my Squeezeboxen, but I'm experiencing a problem now that I can't debug - thought I'd ask the community for assistance. Like it says in the title, Tidal, using the Tidal v1.2 plugin buffers. Not all the time, but more often than not. Once it starts, nothing I can do will resolve it. I have no issues streaming local music, nor do I have an issue with Radio Paradise streaming FLAC files via the RP plugin.. Further, Tidal streaming directly to my laptop on the same network has no issues. I'm running LMS 7.9.0 - 1488878280 on a WHS v1 machine. Taskmgr shows no overt load, nor any more than .0.% networking activity. I'm streaming to a SB Touch that's connected via ethernet powerline adapter. Any thoughts? TIA all! doctor_big's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15196 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110395 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
