The above indicates there is something going on with trasncoding but if
you can play - then this is no longer the issue. A more detailed log
(player.source set to DEBUG) would show what is going on but since it
plays - I don't think it will change things.

"warbley" - can you characterise it a bit better ?
Stream bit slow
Stream bit fast
two streams interleaved ?
chunk of audio being dropped or swapped mid stream so audio is single
stream but a bit jumbled ?

If "warbley" remains on next station then it sounds like a player issue
- it has told LMS it is capable of a certain stream but there is some
incompatibility - player.source at DEBUG level will show what format is
being chosen for player.

Here you are *-bpa-*, I thought I would try your suggestion.

I started BBC Radio 2 and then switched to Radio Paradise flac

I don't think you'll regret switching to Mac Ronnie. The great man
himself (M Herger) is a Mac user so you'll never feel disadvantaged with

The 'delete key' is Fn + Backspace by the way ...

All the best.

Two paracetamol, a lot of head scratching (where the nuisance is the
delete key?). I don't know my way round a Mac at all:o.

Anyway I now have the MacBookPro "Built-in Audio" playing Radio Paradise

If I recover enough, later today I might give the Mac-Mini with the usb

The couldn't create command usually means there rules to create a stream
compaitble - this may be related to output device capbilities.

Enable logging player.source to INFO to get a bit more detail.

There's a standard mac dmg package for the 'latest release'
just drag it to the Applications folder and 'this post'
explains how to have squeezelite start at boot and change the default
output device.

Hope that helps.

I have a similar set-up on a Windows 10 laptop and the "Local Player"
plays through the internal default speakers without a problem, Radio
Paradise flac, JB-R2 and fip all work.

I'll try the usb connection on the Windows 10 later today if I get time.

Thanks for the reply Chris.

I did see your report of the problem when I did some searching, I also
noted that it did not seem to be resolved.

Are you using the "Local Player" plug-in or have you installed
Squeezelite on the Mac?

I see that you have the same failure line in your log as is in mine.

I don't know why it won't open the JB-R2 and fip files as they are mp3.

Yesterday I managed to install "lame" on the MacBookPro but it made no
difference.

Do you have a link that will instruct me how to install Squeezelite on
the Mac?

I would find that really helpful.:)

Ronnie.

I reported this a while back:

Squeezelite still doesn't work for me but my hardware players are fine
now so I just use Squeezeplay on the Mac.

I have tried playing through Squeezelite using the MacBookPro internal
speakers and Spotify works, the BBC Listen live streams work and so does
Radio Paradise 320 stream.

JB-R2 and fip do not work.

A line from the log states
