Thanks for this. I ditched the USB cables, switched to coax and moved a DAC into the 3rd room and all of the problems have gone away. All working flawlessly now. Many thanks! Optical does not support 24/192. If you sync players LMS sends files that the lowest spec player can handle, which means that it will downsample anything higher than 24/96 on the fly, assuming that you've connected one to a 24/192 capable DAC, and the other via the analogue audio outputs. Fixing player output at 100% will not have any effect on syncing. What are the Flac file characteristics ? How many players are being synced ? Are they all identical ? The choice of player to be "master" can affect the sync group. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113143 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Stuttering while players are synced - Possible Benchmark DAC3 issue
Thanks I'll read through that. Another thing I've noticed this evening is that after a reset one stuttering track then played fine. Initially the track rather than stuttering actually seemed to speed through. So a 3 minute track played in about 30 seconds in stuttering segments. All very strange! Re: [slim] Stuttering while players are synced - Possible Benchmark DAC3 issue
Thanks for the replies. I thought I had fixed this by fixing all player outputs at 100% but unfortunately it hasn't. To answer a few questions. All players are wired. The touch is connected via USB. I'll be doing some testing with other digital connections and post back results. I've just upgraded to the latest version of LMS so will test with this before making any other changes. I was running 7.7.6. I'm using the old DAC in another room with another Touch which is working fine. I previously had the server on a Windows 7 PC which no longer works so going to 10 seemed the easiest way to keep all playlists etc. The server side seems to be working fine to be fair. Thanks again for any ideas! Re: [slim] Stuttering while players are synced - Possible Benchmark DAC3 issue
>From the initial post, it sounds as if two things have been changed: the server running LMS and a new DAC. It's also not clear whether the same set of FLAC files playing on the same group of players used to work before either of these changes. Be systematic about the diagnosis. Go back to how things were before, and introduce one change at a time. Take the guesswork out of it. (FWIW, if you want a dedicated LMS server, Windows 10 is the last platform I'd pick) Transporter -> ATC SCM100A cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113143 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

How is the Touch connected to the Benchmark? If you put your old DAC back in place of the Benchmark, does the problem go away? Re: [slim] Stuttering while players are synced - Possible Benchmark DAC3 issue
More hard info. What version of LMS ? How are the player connected wired or wireless ? What are the characteristics of the Flac tracks - sample rate, sample size e.g. 44.1Khz 16bit vs 192kHz 24bit bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113143 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
