We have two independent approaches to the problem: #3512 [1] and #3515 [2].
IMO 3512 handles the problem better, but then I'm biased because I provided a patch for that one :) Could we have a committer's design decision on the overall issue? How (if at all yet) is this handled in newforms-admin?
