Another option to consider could be mysql-connector-python https://pypi.python.org/pypi/mysql-connector-python/1.0.9 It claims to support Python 2 and 3 http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/connector-python-versions.html Also actively developed by @geertjanvdk at Oracle so he may be able to help with any issues?
