Notice nothing said on AUSsoaring but John Viney passed away yesterday. I
gather earlier in week he had a knee operation & assume something did not
go to plan & was moved to another hospital. He was only 66 or 67 years
old. These operations seem common place these days & thus you do not
expect

JV was always so helpful on technical issues re the Dimona and the depth of his
knowledge was evident in every comment. A sad loss to both the gliding movement
and to the members of this forum.

Really sad. I met John a few mths ago. He took me out to take a look at his
Dimona at Wirribee. His wife's health was not too good so I hope she is OK

Really sorry to hear this from Nigel yesterday.
John was a great friend and mentor.
He spent a week with me a few years ago changing the hoses in the Stemme.
I’ll miss him. Clipsal in Adelaide won’t be the same without his visit.
