2002-07-25 Thread John W. Bairen, Jr.

Of course, after all this, you're going to tell me that you
 rebooted after
changing the environment, and I'm completely wrong.

i set it in control panel and then rebooted. sadly, for the first time

Re: [DQSD-Users] refresh icons

2002-07-25 Thread John W. Bairen, Jr.

If you have a problem with losing tray icons, I'd be interested to know
what typing 'refreshicons' and pressing enter in DQSD does.

Icons were missing here at work this morning. refreshicons didn't help.

Missing Icons that I've noticed missing:
Windows Icon that displays my network connection status
Yankee Clipper

Re: [DQSD-Users] refresh icons

2002-07-25 Thread SGP
When I typed refreshicons I got google's seach results for refreshicons. So I searched the code for refreshicons and sure enough I found it in search.htm. Now comes the fun part. In search.htm I noticed quitdqsd and executed it. Now the whole Win2k taskbar is gone. How do I make it reappear without rebooting?

This is a hint to properly coded applications which are using the tray to reinstate their tray icons. If you have a problem with losing tray icons, I'd be interested to know what typing 'refreshicons' and pressing enter in DQSD does.I don't have a problem with missing icons, so though I wrote the modifications, and can verify that the message is broadcast, I can't show that it makes any difference to the problem.Cheers,Will---This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeekWelcome to geek heaven.http://thinkgeek.com/sf___Dqsd-users mailing list[EMAIL PROTECTED]https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dqsd-usershttp://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=8601Do You Yahoo!?

Go CTRL-ALT-DEL and find the 'New Task...' button somewhere around whatever
dialogue pops up (or on the task manager).

Run 'Explorer' as a new task.

That'll teach you to poke around the source code...

Incidentally, I think you're either not running the version of DQSD that
you're looking at the source for, or you mistyped refreshicons - it
shouldn't launch a search.

Cheers,

Will

[DQSD-Users] Queue search for Dave's Toolbar

2002-07-25 Thread Nick Tornow

I've written a new search for Dave's Toolbar for
interfacing with Queue (visit
http://www.irondust.com/queue for more information)
and am attaching it to this email. Queue is a system
that requires establishing a user account and logging
in to get cookies. Once that is done, this new Dave's
Toolbar search will allow you to store and access
personal information, including todos, and random
notes to yourself quickly from the desktop (Queue is
free, no strings attached). Here is the documentation
for the new search:

Interface with Queue (requires Queue account and login
w/cookies)

Switches:
/search
Search your Queue Data Stores/td/tr
/add
Add an Entry to a Queue Data Store/td/tr
/push
Push a page to your personal Queue/td/tr
/pop
Pop a page from your personal Queue/td/tr
/task
Create a new task for your personal Queue

Examples:
que /search Taliban
que /add Beth 455-4564
que /push http://www.google.com/
que /pop
que /task Pick up clothes from dry cleaner

Enjoy. Comments and suggestions welcome.
