When I typed refreshicons I got google's seach results for refreshicons. So I searched the code for refreshicons and sure enough I found it in search.htm. Now comes the fun part. In search.htm I noticed quitdqsd and executed it. Now the whole Win2k taskbar is gone. How do I make it reappear without rebooting?

Where did you look?

3.0.0.22 has an experimental command 'refreshicons', which broadcasts the
same message that the shell broadcasts whenever it (re)starts. This is a
hint to properly coded applications which are using the tray to reinstate
their tray icons.

If you have a problem with losing tray icons, I'd be interested to know
what typing 'refreshicons' and pressing enter in DQSD does.

I don't have a problem with missing icons, so though I wrote the
modifications, and can verify that the message is broadcast, I can't show
that it makes any difference to the problem.

Cheers,

Will
