[DQSD-Users] 4.0.0.5 - A few color scheme issues
These are just observations. It's not at all important to me whether any of this is addressed. All of these observations are based on DQSD being full length on the second row of the Windows taskbar. When color scheme blue is loaded, DQSD becomes momentarily all blue, then has mostly a white background while it initializes displaying "Quick Search" and then "Type ? for help". It then settles to all blue displaying the date/time. When clicked, it takes on a white background again. Likewise for silver, with "silver" substituted for "blue". I would have assumed this is what is supposed to happen except Olive loads and stays entirely olive even when clicked. Attempting to load Energy Blue produces An error ([object Error]) occurred while trying to run the search "loadcssfile)"theme_energy_blue.css")" All of the Royale themes seem to be missing the bottom colored border when they have a white box for typing in. Loading Classic produces An error ([object Error]) occurred while trying to run the search "loadcssfile)"theme_classic.css")" This one might bother me except I'm satisfied with No Theme. I've also noted a similar (though not identical) "Access Denied" dialog when trying to use anything with the "/popup" option (such as the [currently broken??] mwd.xml search for merriam-webster). Based on this, your assumption may well be correct. I'm _supposed_ to be an admin on my box, and that may have "secretly changed" at some point. It's trivial (and allowable) for me to go in and change it back. If it's permissions-based on the specific folder, then *maybe* I can fix that, too. I'll have to check out the rights on the DQSD folder on that machine, and let you know how I fare. It occurs to me that I probably ought to say somewhere that due to the way that the DQSD stylization works, people wanting to take advantage of the multiline styles will need to run "configure > load color scheme > ..." in order to apply the new styles. This procedure overwrites the previous theme.css file (which ships as an empty file, but is populated by the *theme.css file last loaded through "configure"), so the OLD theme will be preserved for anyone that upgrades. If you don't "load" a new color scheme (or the same one again) the updated stylization will not be applied. Are we using the xmphttprequest object? Or are we using the msxml2.xmlhttp (and similar) objects? The first one is only available on IE7 and up. Kim, I just noticed that the edge of the top of the taskbar is not rounded smoothly and any text in the taskbar (date showing) encroaches on the round edge line. Using the new_blue.zip solution cures this sgain. So unfortunately not there yet! Nice work Kim, I can confirm the multiline taskbar issue has gone away for me for the first time ever on install! :-) I do of course still get the usual ie unspecified error in search.htm on line 78 char 5 _iff_ my default browser (firefox) is not open.
