There's quite a bit of info on the web regarding this comparison (DRAKEmods,
on Thoms page is a good one). A lot of it runs to personal taste.
Unmodified, most folks prefer the "B"... and I think I'd agree.
On the other hand, I own several stations of each of the "A" "B" and "C" lines

The TX has been working fine untill a few days ago.
In SSB (and CW) mode (any band)
without touching the PTT button or hitting the key I get feedback from the
mike in the R4C.

infinitely better than the others because of the crystal filtering used.

I have a Tr-4 that seems to work fine on 80, 40 and 20 meters but on 10 and
15 the receive is low as compared to a general coverage receiver.
I’m just getting back into Drake ownership, after having a TR4C
and “C” line in the 1970’s. R-4A’s and T-4Xs are quite
plentiful and fairly attractively priced. “C” lines seem to be
getting top dollar. I even acquired an R-4A and T-4X from the down dump! In
