T/R problems are often associated with the 10R and 10T control lines and
their fuses, Q306 and Q307.
Check both busses, marked on the parent board traces. Each must be very
close to +10 when receiving or transmitting respectively AND very close
to 0V inversely. You'll probably find

Hi-I am trying to help a friend finish his T4X. The function switch needs to be
replaced as it has bad wafers. Anyone have a spare or a junker rig with a good

I pulled the bottom cover and checked the 10R and 10T lines. They are
working correctly. I measured 9.9V on the 10R line in receive and 0.00 in
transmit. I measured 0.0V on 10T in receive and 9.9V in transmit.
Any other suggestions?

OK, you gotta start somewhere! :-)
The AF Preamp stage, Q1113 on the 2nd IF/ AF board gets it's B+ from the
10R line coming in on Pin 11/14. So if you have 0V on that stage, then
the AF signal that you are hearing in the speaker when transmitting is
getting into the audio stages via

First, the S9 +30 signal should be at zero beat for the null to be at
12 o'clock. Generally not worth fighting, as not only is the adjustment
difficult to access, it's also glued down. Unless that glue blob is
broken, indicating someone has been fixing it, it will be close
enough.
