Found the boxes that the feed through caps came (miracle), anyway
the boxes read Sprague by pass capacitor 80P3 .1 MF 600 WVDC
516 .0693-000 . These were purchased from Surplus Sales of Nebraska
for $18/each. I hope this helps, been using the L4B for six months and no
problem
so far. I have

Yep, those are the Sprague 'HyPass' caps. They are rated for 20A, which
is a little disconcerting, but there seem to be few failures. SSN
doesn't have them any more though.
The current limitation would be the size of the internal conductor, and
the attachment method at each end. I
All;
Does anyone have lurking about in the dark recesses of their computers an
electronic copy of the manual(s) for the Drake TR-33c they might be willing to
share?
I'm also looking for a few crystals, specifically 145.270, 146.760, 147.060,
147.210 and 147.240 if anyone has any spares
Tom, you will find on my Drake website (WB4HFN.com) the
complete manual for the TR-33. It is in the Adobe (.pdf)
format.Here is the link.

Hope I'm not getting into trouble posting this again. I have a late model L4B
amp- serial number 6122. I'm new to this Drake and vintage
gear so please bear with me. I blew a Ceramic Disc capacitor on the L4B C
-26, Stamp .1 Z5V+80 -20. This goes to the RFC 2 then
to one of the 3-500Z
Uh-oh... Is this a pattern?? :-)
Are certain that this arrangement is original and not a 'fix' applied
later?
Interesting photo, if original, perhaps Drake wasn't completely happy
with Sprague 80P3s after all! These look much more robust. Are there
any markings on the white

Looking at your photo again, I'm assuming the cap at the lower right is
the one you are concerned about. Are you sure it's 'blown'?? They are
coated with wax, and when heated the wax tends to accumulate on the
lowest point, and is much thicker and has that 'brown' color. It' VERY
Greetings to the Group,
I picked up a Drake T-4XB at a local hamfest that has a cracked white dial
diffuser. I still have a couple of the blue filter replacement kits from
WA9TGT, but those kits did not include the white diffuser. I see that KG9BV is
now selling the blue filter replacement kits
Bill,
I have longed searched for a suitable replacement for the white dial back
ground plastic. The only material that I have been able to come up with that
passed light well enough is plastic For Sale, Garage Sale, etc signs. You don't
get a lot of white area without printing for each sign
What about cutting a piece of glass then sand blasting it to create a fresnal
lens? Sounds crazy but it just might work.

think you can find them at Hobby Stores or Craft Stores.
Here is a link that you can try:
Was the Tr-33 basically a rebadged Trio/Kenwood TR-2200?

OK. Having looked at Ron's manual, it's not.
The mixing scheme is the same as that used by Standard during the 1970s for
some of their portable and mobile radios.

In my previous resonse regarding the white diffuser replacement I probably
was not clear regarding the link I posted and the product made by
EZ Quilting by Wrights. They make a mylar sheet that is 12 x 18 that is
used for pattern making. This mylar sheet comes in various colors and is
