The 'B' will work just fine with the R-4C. It will even transceive, but
would require a minor adjustment of the 3rd Mixer LO in the receiver.
It's essentially the same transmitter, the only real circuit change is a
solid state Carrier Oscillator in the 'C' and a provision to couple
*Hello again, *
* In my last post on this I had ordered new parts for the relay board,
we got it installed easily enough. When I turn it on we do not hear the
click as stated in the instructions, how do I know if it is working or not??
I got all the Drake line set up and even though I've had
Greetings to the group,
I have an R4C and a T4XC that I use mostly as 'separates' on CW.
A friend has a T4XB that he wishes to sell and I am considering buying it as a
backup
to my T4XC. I assume the B-line xmtr will stand in fine for the C-line xmtr
when used with the
R4C receiver ?
Woody - If it's working correctly you should hear the relay engage within about
a half second after turning on the power switchyou'll then hear it
disengage about a second after powering the amp down. Sounds like you still
have some kind of problem with either a part or the wiring.

I tried a crude measurement on the working 'X' filter marked
SSB 9M 2100 U
Why does the 'U' filter peak on the low side of the Center Freq?
The 'non X' filter will not pass a signal btw it is marked 2100 L
If the 'U' and 'L' are for USB and LSB I am guessing that the USB and
LSB are only
Hi all
My Dad (K8ZID) and I are in the process of restoring a TR4C. It is coming along
very well and operates perfectly. We have a parts rig so no shortage of
spares and replacements so far.
Now it hears great, makes full power on all bands, operates like a dream except
that 40 meters is

I get myself confused every time I try to explain this... Please delete previous message before
I get you confused too!!!
** REVISED
Because of the mixing scheme used in the TR-4, the filters are NOT really USB and LSB,
Paul
I have opened several of the filters using a very hot iron and lots of
solder wick. I have about 5 or 6 of them. Inside you will find eight
crystals and a few disk capacitors. I had planned on trying to take a few
bad ones and make a good filter but have yet to try. I suppose a torch

I get myself confused every time I try to explain this... I obviously should NOT try this after
lunch At least I got the first two sentences correct! :-)
Because of the mixing scheme used in the TR-4, the filters are NOT really USB and LSB, but #1 and
#2. I know this is
