You might also consider, at some point, teflon tubing over the (brass)
frame rods. HV silicone at the ends of the tubing will prevent arcing
to the rods. In the case of RF switch, it was probably gonna go
somewhere, just took the easiest path. :)

small quantities---and if worse comes

Insulating varnish and Epoxy designed for the motor rewind and
transformer repair at a supplier that sells that kind of stuff. Try MCM
for the GC stuff, or Mouser perhaps.
