1) Resuming from suspend
2) Automatically powering the monitors back on even if the computer had not
suspended (e.g., after turning off due to powersave)

I am also getting a similar error only when using Wayland. When switching to
Xorg I no longer get it.
So is an issue related to Wayland or is it just because Wayland may use a
mechanism that Xorg don't?
