I am a newbie dspace installer!
My dspace server is behind a firewall with the following ports open for
TCP broadcast and receive:
2641 (for the handle protocol)
8080 (for http access to the dspace)server
It seems that there is also a port 8000 needed for http for a handle??

Metadata can often be used to generates links. You can look at the
little green links in items display at

This is because metadata is processed at display time, not because links
are embedded in data

One of our users would like to store there videos in our DSpace repository
as Flash Files and would like them to play when people click on
View/Open. Is there a way to set this up to play properly?

/var/cache/tomcat5/* are owned by the dspace user -- that's good --
but you're still running tomcat as the tomcat5 user, so tomcat can't

Ok i now found 1 error i wrote TOMCAT_USER instead of TOMCAT5_USER (me stupid)
When I start tomcat it says:

I have DSpace 1.4.1 implemented on Windows 2003 with Tomcat 6.0. I have
to change the dspace url from http://IPaddress:8080/dspace to
http://repository.x.y.z http://repository.x.y.z/ . I have registered
the name and changed the tomcat connector from 8080 to 80 and now the
