Steve you need to register you call sign with your sys admin group there locally in order to make a contact across the gateway. In order to make a local contact you need the your call field set CQCQCQ and RPT1 field set to your local repeater callsign along with C for 2meter or B for 440 in

Daniel, Actually make that twice. we recently had a Continental Flight crash on takeoff here in Denver and amazingly the plane ran off the runway and dropped over 40 feet into a ravine and was destroyed but everyone evacuated the aircraft orderly and within about 90 seconds into the cold.
