Re: [dwm] dwm and dualhead
2008/12/10 Johannes Wegener [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Hi, is there anybody who has experience with dwm and dualhead setups? I tried to use dwm with a xrandr dualhead but it seemed quite useless becouse I could just drag floating windows into the second screen. Xinerama seems no more supported by xorg 7.4 and the intel driver. So my question are do you plan to put xrandr support into dwm? or has anybody a hack/workaround for that problem? Seems that XRandR support in dwm is becoming a requirement soon, unfortunately. I wonder which X morons are to blame for dropping Xinerama completely... I think the whole X.org crowd is totally misled by dodgy desktop environment communities... Hopefully I will find some sponsor to fund a from-scratch X server and X lib reimplementation which does multihead without any quirks and hacks like XRandR... and which provides a decent font interface to begin with. Re: [dwm] 5.0.1 : Xorg crashed with VLC movie
Hi folks, I tried with hg tip and I'm also running ubuntu 8.04 with the vlc package. I can't confirm, for me it works without any crash at all. On Fri, Jul 18, 2008 at 10:48:58PM +0200, Albert Cardona wrote: I have just upgraded from 4.7 to 5.0.1. I'm running ubuntu 8.04 updated to today. 1 - download this movie: http://www.ini.uzh.ch/~acardona/movies/48.avi 2 - run: $ vlc 48.avi ... then Xorg crashes. With dwm 4.7 this doesn't happen: VLC crashes, but not Xorg. From gnome desktop, VLC runs the movie normally. Did anybody run into this sort of issue? I tried to watch this movie with my heavily outdated vlc.Still using XFree86-Server-4.3.0_14 which does NOT crash. Log can be found here: http://www.netbeisser.de/vlc.txt ,dwm -v dwm-5.0.1, © 2006-2008 dwm engineers, see LICENSE for details Maybe updating vlc helps. Re: [dwm] New website launch
Hi Where are the irc logs stored? They used to be under /irc/ but this currently returns a 404. I usually read through them once a week and enjoy uriel's rants about various things ;) so do we all :) also the chat contains various different nice discussions/ressources one would not like to miss. and also one does not always have/want to read logs via shell access. (screeen) hm, according to the chat yesterday, they will soon re-appear. Re: [dwm] New URL of repositories/source code
Hi arg, Hi Sponsors ;) and other stuff like good old wmi-10.tar.gz in http://code.suckless.org/dl/misc Thanks for that. Really, I depend on that robust piece of code, which has proven to be stable the last years. Anyway I need to go deeper into the dwm evaluation period and see if dwm can cope with his good old grandfather wmi :) Good Night --srm btw: A special note goes out to LaoLang_cool, to use _real_ paper for his todo lists :P -- GMX startet ShortView.de.
