It is apparently the instant gratification thing that many Americans
seem to suffer from these days. They want it right now! Of course, we
have been fortunate and haven't had to endure any significant hardships
for several generations so that may be the reason.

Isn't this action based simply on the fact that the fellow
that the ARRL DX Bulletin comes out and does not mention Pratas, Cocos

John, I agree with you 100% regarding the cost of postage in the US. I
agree with you that the US is a lot better off than the rest of the
world, etc. That doesn't change the fact that government has gotten
bigger, the postal service is more expensive to operate, etc.

Well, if you visit the Northern Bahamas, my repeater, the only one in
the country, IS working. It is on 145.210 and you will meet at least
four resident hams as well as any visitors who might be around. It is
at 160' on a government communications tower. Covers most, if not all,
of Great Abaco
