Doubtful. He way way too loud here. Also, would they put such a poor
op on CW?

Hi Folks,
I can't comment on the current pileups because my rig is packed up for a DXpedition, But- I can't help having some thoughts.
Listening splits- Is the DX station asking the pileup to call in a 30 KHz split? Or is he just saying "up", and rather than trying to figure out the listening
If that was the one on 14.045 listening 20 - 40 kHz up the signals
came from the right direction. He worked USA and later only JA,
not one single European station...
I don't think there are any better CW-operators at KH8SI, it was
real slow and he had problems getting the callsigns correct.
Yes, there are better CW operators on the Swain's Island DXpedition but it
seems to be a mystery as to why they don't seem to be operating. K1ER can
handle anything on a key but all I have heard him on is phone. Since I am
not there, I cannot comment on much from that end, instead just try to

I've been curious about this - what is strange, the radio or the team?
And what's strange about it?
Excellent SSB OP this morning on 3798/3804) --- he heard AC7 and kept
beating back the pileup until he heard AC7Z, then AC7ZG, then kept beating
back the pileup until he completed the QSO. Many Many times Standby
Standby Standby...AC7 ONLY AC7 ONLY. After this, lots of JA's and 6's
calling over
Charlie,
I heard you work them on 30 this morning...congrats.
There has been a lot of criticism about the KH8SI team but I am sure
they are doing their best under the present conditions. Yes, I've heard
them working hundreds of JA's but after just listening to the 30 meter
pileup this morning
Thanks to everybody for the information I appreciate it.

Anyone know a good source of Airmail Envelopes?
Wal-Mart and the big-box office supply stores no longer carry them.
Thanks,
Garth, KW4MM
Plum currently has a special price on some overstock of Euro airmail
send and the nesting return envelopes

Envelopes?
Garth -
A number of years ago I went the route of having an rubber stamp made
with PAR AVION AIRMAIL on the stamp. I use a red
ink pad and use standard 3 5/8 x 6.5 envelopes.
In the long run...It's cheaper unless you need lightweight
envelopes.

Also the USPS stickers come in at least two sizes, maybe more. Just ask
for them at any Post Office window, they should have them in their stamp
drawer.
