I have not worked VU7LD but my call is in the on-line log. So the
operator must have busted someone's call because I have not worked or
even called VU7LD on phone.

I worked VU7LD, by a previous operation , I have VU7LD confirmed on
phone but not on CW. But since CW is no longer a requirement for a HAM
license the mode CW is not and will not be popular.

This is not a 3Y0 or 5A7 operation, so don't feel bad working him twice.

I have subscribed to the hfradio.org NW7US for several years but recently my

receiving the space weather reports or give me an updated email address I can

Mike, if you receive the forecast/alert at your Yahoo address, check your spam
folder to see if it's in there. If you receive it at another address, check
with the operators of the email server to see if they have installed a
spamblocker. As more and more ISPs and email hosts install these pieces of
%^*, more and more legitimate email (usually, but not always newsletter type
messages with multiple addressees) is being blocked, usually with no provision
for the intended recipient to review the blocked messages.

I respectfully disagree !

CW is and IMHO probably will still be popular for obvious reasons.

Just listen in the low ends.

Sorry you feel that way Lou. However, I think you're grossly mistaken. If
anything, I think the opposite will occur.

Those who continue to operate on CW will do so because they enjoy it, not
because they're trying to get their code speeds up to pass a test. It
follows then that if it is enjoyed, it will maintain at least some modicum
of popularity.

CW is an acquired taste. Not everyone acquires it. It took me a long time
to really settle down and enjoy it. I actually find that lately I spend
much more time cruising the exclusive CW sub-bands for DX and ragchews than
I do the Phone 'bands. Never in a googleplex of nanoseconds thought that
would happen!
