The call K2ORS now belongs to Warren Ziegler, who is very active in the
Lowfer community (137 & 500 kHz). Warren was such a huge fan of Jean
Shepherd that he wanted (and got) his callsign.

Astoria NY that makes copies of Shep's old shows available on tape; I have
about a dozen sitti
Jean was originally from Hammond, Indiana.
He was a member of the local RC (Lake County Amateur Radio Club) (Lake
County Indiana) and a really great guy to talk with. He wrote "Christmas
Story" now an annual movie and also "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash."

WOR radio had a talk show DJ back in the '60s named Jean Shepherd. He was a
K2 and I talked to him a couple of times on 40 SSB. Does anyone remember his
ham call? TIA
